Now a days we give them to our loved ones on valentines day and they say things like "text me", "kiss me", "sweetheart" etc.
They used to say "email me", "fax me", "phone me" and more

My Bad

My bad originating from an unnamed African Basketball Player in the 1980's, he didn't speak much English. He said it after missing a free throw. Several Sportscasters heard the phrase and used it as a joke until it became a part of popular culture.
